Agartala, 17th March 2025: Dharmanagar witnessed a shocking incident late last night as the body of Hemanta Roy, a 55-year-old GST Superintendent was found on the road near Kali Dighi. Roy is a resident of Tarapur in Silchar and was found dead under mysterious circumstances.
According to preliminary investigations, medical professionals suspect that a head injury may have caused his death. However, the exact cause and circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, fueling speculation and concern.
Fire department personnel, who were alerted to what was initially reported as an accident, arrived at the scene only to find Roy’s dead body. “We received a call about an accident, but upon reaching the spot, we found nothing except the deceased’s body,” said a fire department official.
The police have confirmed that a post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of death. “We are investigating the matter thoroughly. The exact cause of death will only be known after the post-mortem report,” stated a police official.
The incident has left the locality in shock, with many questioning the circumstances that led to Roy’s tragic demise.
