Agartala, 20th August 2026 : A mysterious incident involving the death of a housewife in Ward No. 2 of East Harina under Sabroom subdivision has created tension among local residents. The deceased has been identified as the wife of Ranjit Sutradhar.
According to the family, the couple had been sleeping in the same room on Wednesday night. At around 8:30 am on Thursday, Ranjit reportedly woke up and found his wife in a burnt condition in an adjacent room. The family has claimed that she died by suicide.
However, questions have been raised over the circumstances surrounding the incident, including how the fire allegedly went unnoticed and whether any smoke, smell or noise was detected. No conclusion can be drawn until the investigation is completed.
Police investigation, forensic examination and the post-mortem report are expected to establish the actual circumstances and cause of death. Local residents have urged the authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and bring the truth to light.
