NEET (UG) 2026 re-examination held peacefully across Tripura amid tight security arrangements

Date:

Agartala, 21st June 2026:   The re-examination for NEET (UG) 2026 was conducted smoothly across 10 examination centres in Tripura on Sunday amid strict security arrangements and close monitoring by the administration. Of the total centres, nine were located in West Tripura district while one centre was in Dhalai district.

After inspecting several examination centres, including Kendriya Vidyalaya, West Tripura District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar said that the examination process was proceeding without any disruption or complaints. He stated, “The NEET (UG) re-examination is taking place today. We inspected various centres, including Kendriya Vidyalaya. Candidates entered the centres by 1:30 PM. The biometric attendance system is functioning properly, and the examination is being conducted peacefully under the supervision of National Testing Agency (NTA) representatives. No complaints have been received so far.”

According to official sources, around 4,500 candidates from across the state appeared for the re-examination. To maintain law and order around the examination venues, the District Magistrate issued a special order under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).

As per the order, entry within a 100-metre radius of the examination centres was restricted to candidates, teachers, examiners, and authorised personnel carrying valid identity documents or admit cards. The gathering of five or more persons near the centres was also prohibited. Carrying sticks or similar objects by anyone other than security personnel was restricted, with strict legal action warned against violators.

West Tripura Superintendent of Police Namit Pathak said elaborate security arrangements were made at all centres. “Special security measures have been implemented to ensure the smooth conduct of the examination. Personnel from Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), Tripura State Rifles (TSR), and Tripura Police have been deployed. All preparations were completed, and the examination was held in a peaceful atmosphere,” he said.

The administration stated that due to coordinated arrangements, biometric verification, and tight security deployment, the NEET (UG) 2026 re-examination concluded successfully at all centres across Tripura.
