Agartala, January 23: Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury inaugurated a newly constructed RCC bridge over Ghoramaracherra in Ranirbazar on Tuesday, as part of the government’s development programs for the state.
The bridge, which cost Rs 2 crore 85 lakh 24 thousand, was built within the specified time and met quality standards, according to the minister.
The minister said that the bridge fulfilled the long-standing demand of the area and improved the communication system of Ranirbazar and neighboring areas, including Durganagar. He also said that the government was working for the welfare of all the people, irrespective of party affiliation, and had established a relationship with them through work.
He added that the people of the state did not have to agitate for development anymore, as the government was building one Tripura, the best Tripura, by channeling everyone’s faith and efforts.
The minister also announced that various plans were being taken for the development of Ranirbazar Municipal Council area in the coming days, including the construction of a sub-district hospital in Jirania. The event was attended by Ranirbazar Municipal Council Chairperson Aparna Sur Das, Jirania Panchayat Samiti Vice Chairman Pritam Debnath, Jirania Nagar Panchayat Chairperson Ratan Kumar Das, social worker Gouranga Bhowmik and others. Vice-Chairperson of Ranirbazar Municipal Council Prabir Kumar Das presided over the event, while Priyabrata Pal, Superintendent of Public Works Department, delivered the welcome address.
