Agartala, 29th January 2026:   The National Investigation Agency (NIA), a central intelligence agency, has once again stepped up its operations in Tripura in connection with the search for Anwar Hossain, who is facing serious charges related to alleged anti-national activities. Anwar Hossain is the son of Manik Mia and a resident of the Karaimura area under Bishalgarh subdivision.

Late Wednesday night, a special team of the NIA, with active assistance from the Bishalgarh police station, conducted a raid in the Karaimura area as part of an intensified search operation. According to reliable sources, the raid followed the issuance of an arrest warrant against Anwar Hossain by the NIA court in Guwahati. Acting on the court’s directive, the central agency launched the operation in coordination with the state police to ensure the swift arrest of the accused.

During the operation, the joint NIA and state police team thoroughly searched the residence of Manik Mia in Karaimura. However, despite a prolonged and meticulous search, Anwar Hossain could not be located. Officials indicated that although the raid did not yield immediate results, it signals a sharper focus and further escalation of the investigation in the coming days.

In the wake of the NIA’s renewed activity, the state police administration has also gone on high alert. Administrative sources confirmed that security arrangements and intelligence surveillance have been strengthened across the area. Monitoring of Anwar Hossain’s close associates and suspected hideouts has also been intensified to trace his movements and establish his current whereabouts.

Meanwhile, Anwar Hossain’s father, Manik Mia, claimed he has been out of contact with his son for a long time. “I have no idea where he is now,” he said, asserting that he has not had any recent communication with him.

Officials maintained that the joint operation would continue until the accused is traced and brought before the law.
