NIA Raids in Tripura Over Fake Document Racket; No Arrests Made Yet

Agartala, 12th November 2025:  A team from the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Guwahati Branch, in coordination with the Tripura Police, carried out a raid across Unakoti District in the early hours of Wednesday, beginning around 3 a.m.

According to intelligence sources, the operation was aimed at locating two individuals suspected of involvement in a fake document racket. The suspects have been identified as Paritosh Shil (45), son of Putul Ch. Shil, a resident of Bhagyapur, Ward No. 03, under Kailashahar Police Station, and Ranu Pal (42), a resident of the Nidevi area under Kumarghat Police Station.

“Preliminary findings suggest that both individuals were engaged in the fabrication of forged documents,” an official source confirmed. “As of now, no arrests have been made. The search and investigation are ongoing under the close supervision of senior NIA and district police officials.”

Authorities are expected to continue the probe to uncover the full extent of the alleged document forgery network operating in the region.
