Agartala, 9th September 2024: In a major development for medical aspirants in Tripura, the National Medical Council (NMC) has granted approval for 150 MBBS seats at Tripura Santiniketan Medical College, a new institution established by the Swadhin Trust. This decision is set to enhance the medical education infrastructure in the state, offering more opportunities to students aspiring to pursue a career in medicine.
The approval was announced as part of a broader public notice issued by the NMC, which also included a list of newly sanctioned medical colleges and an increase in seat availability for the 2024-25 academic session across the country. The move is expected to ease the fierce competition for MBBS seats and cater to the rising demand for healthcare professionals in Tripura and beyond.
With these newly approved seats, the state’s medical education sector is poised for significant growth, ensuring better access to quality medical education for local students while contributing to the overall healthcare system.
Mr. Malay Pit, President of Tripura Santiniketan Medical College, expressed his vision to bring advanced healthcare technology to benefit the people of Tripura. He also aims to provide high-quality medical education and develop a “Tripura Knowledge City,” which will offer courses ranging from kindergarten to postgraduate studies, including a Digital University with the Consent of Tripura State Govt.
The news of the NMC’s approval has been welcomed by aspiring students and educational institutions alike, as it opens up new avenues for admissions in the upcoming academic session.
