Agartala, July 5, 2023: In a commitment to protect the environment and secure a sustainable future, the North District Police organized a grand celebration of Vanamahotsav in Dharmanagar on Wednesday. The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of tree plantation and its impact on our lives and the generations to come.
Under the leadership of North District SP Bhanupada Chakraborty, numerous trees were planted across the city, with a special focus on the Rajbari area. Reflecting on the significance of this initiative, Chakraborty emphasized the need for a collective effort to ensure the availability of oxygen, a vital resource for our survival.
He expressed concern over the prevailing tendency to indiscriminately destroy forests in the pursuit of urbanization, without considering the consequences for the oxygen supply and water resources. Chakraborty highlighted the urgent need to cultivate a deep-rooted culture of tree plantation to counterbalance this destructive trend.
The North District Police has been actively participating in tree plantation drives every year, aligning with the vision of a Clean Dharmanagar, Green Dharmanagar, and Love Dharmanagar, championed by MLA and Assembly Speaker Biswa Bandhu Sen. Understanding the invaluable role played by trees in sustaining life, the police department is committed to safeguarding the well-being of the community and future generations.
By embracing the slogan “Clean Dharmanagar, Green Dharmanagar, Love Dharmanagar,” the North District Police seeks to remind everyone of the critical importance of tree plantation. Their efforts aim to preserve a flourishing environment that nurtures and sustains all living beings.
Through the celebration of Vanamahotsav, the North District Police exemplifies their dedication to environmental conservation and serves as an inspiration for the community to actively participate in similar initiatives. By planting trees and embracing nature, they are working towards creating a greener, healthier, and more vibrant Dharmanagar for the benefit of all.
