Northeast emerging Swadeshi Techade hub: Giant step towards Swavlambi Bharat

Agartala, 13th March 2024:   Tripura University organized a programme on “Semiconductor Facility in India : Implications for Future” along with Live Streaming of “India’s Techade-Chips for Viksit Bharat” where the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for three semiconductor projects worth about Rs 1.25 lakh crores via video conferencing on Wednesday.

Youth of Tripura who enthusiastically participated in the programme happily noted that it is a historic occasion, a significant step towards a bright future for India. It is a matter of great pleasure that Tripura University were one of the 60,000 colleges, universities and educational institutes who were connected with this type of unprecedented event.

In his concluding remarks, Dr. Deepak Sharma, Registrar, Tripura University and Kshetra Sanyojak, Purvottar Bharat, Swadeshi Jagran Manch stated that, it is a historic day for the people of Northeast Bharat, with its first Semiconductor unit to come up in Assam, we have empowered. The Semiconductor facility in Assam would not only provide the employment opportunities to the youth of Northeastern states but also would help in inculcating the spirit of Swadeshi, Swavlamban and the Swabhiman in the present generation.  He further added that the present Govt. is committed to make Bharat a self reliant. He said that while adopting the new technology, the University would have to adapt to the evolving reality of society 4.0.

Prof. Debajyoti Battacharjee of Dept. of Physics, Tripura University gave his keynote speech on the topic and elaborated in details of the concept of semiconductor and its multiple uses in our day to day affairs. Prof. R. K. Nath, Dean (i/c), Faculty of Science presented in the programme as chief guest and the vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. S. A. Hussain, HoD, Dept. of Physics. Dr. Aishwarya Jha, Associate Professor, Dept. of Hindi was Moderated the programme. More than 1700 students and scholars were participated in the programme.
