One arrested with Yaba worth Rs 25 Lakh in Bagbasa

Agartala, 22nd January 2025:   Tripura Police have arrested one person and seized Yaba tablets worth Rs 25 lakh from Bagbassa under the North District of the state, which shares an interstate border with Assam. 

Speaking on the matter, Bagbassa Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge Partha Deb said that on Tuesday late night, they received a tip-off that a person was carrying a huge consignment of Yaba tablets in a passenger Bolero car traveling from Assam to Tripura. 

 “Based on the inputs, we alerted our police personnel and set up a naka point in the Bagbassa area under the North District. When the vehicle arrived, we detained it and seized around 10,000 Yaba tablets, which were kept inside a secret chamber. The driver, identified as Suman Mia, a resident of Dhanpur under Sepahijala District, was taken into custody. The value of the seized tablets would be around Rs 25 lakh. We have produced him before the court seeking police remand for further interrogation,” he said.
