Agartala, 31st August 2024:   Despite financial aid from Delhi, the riverside community of College Tilla has shown little cooperation in flood relief efforts, according to the opposition party’s branch organization. On Saturday, the Tripura Mahila Samiti Union (TMSU) distributed clothes to flood victims, with organization leader Amal Chakraborty present.

Chakraborty highlighted the severe impact of recent floods on the state’s residents, particularly those living near College Tila in the capital. “Left-wing organizations have stood by the affected people, but it is disheartening that there has been no cooperation from the riverside community since the floods began,” he stated.

He emphasized the limitations faced by the opposition in playing the role of the government, noting, “Our capacity is limited, so we are providing assistance within our means.” On this day, Chakraborty, accompanied by other leaders, visited homes to distribute relief materials and urged the community to support each other in the coming days.
