Our youth shouldn’t have to leave for nursing education: Pranajit Singha Roy

Agartala, 1st August 2025:   The Agartala Government Nursing College commemorated its second anniversary on Friday with a formal ceremony held at the institution’s auditorium.

Tripura’s Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy graced the occasion as the chief guest, accompanied by Health Secretary Kiran Gitte, the Director of the Health Department and several senior officials.

The event commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting led by Minister Singha Roy. Several students were felicitated for their outstanding academic achievements and contributions to the institution.

In a media interaction, Minister Singha Roy emphasized the government’s commitment to elevating the state’s healthcare services under the leadership of the Chief Minister. He noted the pivotal role of nurses in strengthening health infrastructure and expressed the administration’s ongoing efforts to establish robust nursing education facilities within Tripura.

“The government is determined to ensure that aspiring students need not travel outside the state for nursing education,” said Singha Roy. “With multiple nursing colleges now operational, Tripura’s youth are poised to excel in this vital sector.”

The minister also lauded the growing network of nursing institutions as instrumental in advancing public health standards and empowering local students with professional opportunities.
