Over 1000 voters of CPIM, Tipra join BJP in Kanchanpur

Agartala, 18th December 2023:    In a significant turn of events, a major split has shaken the opposition party, with 1,100 voters from 298 families defecting to the BJP Janjati Morcha. The joining meeting, orchestrated by the BJP Janjati Morcha Kanchanpur Mandal Committee, saw a surge in new members, highlighting a growing divide within the political landscape.

State BJP President, Rajib Bhattacharya, extended a warm welcome to the newcomers during the gathering. Bhattacharya emphasized the BJP Janjati Morcha Kanchanpur Mandal Committee’s commitment to strengthening its organizational prowess, strategically aligning itself for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Addressing the assembly, Bhattacharya shared insights into the committee’s various political initiatives aimed at bolstering its presence in the region. As part of this broader effort, a rally unfolded on the grounds of Dasha Durga Mandap on Monday, spearheaded by the BJP Janjati Morcha Kanchanpur Mandal Committee.

Prominent figures such as Minister of Tribal Welfare Department Bikas Debbarrama, MLA Pramod Reang, and BJP Janajati Morcha Mandal President Bimanjoy Reang were in attendance at the gathering. Their presence underscored the gravity of the situation, emphasizing the widening gap within the opposition party and the growing influence of the BJP Janajati Morcha.

This development marks a crucial moment in the region’s political landscape, setting the stage for intensified competition and realignment as parties gear up for the forthcoming elections.
