Over 13,000 individuals penalized for power line violations in 2 FYs: Ratan Lal Nath

Agartala, 25th March 2025:   Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited has reported significant progress in curbing illegal activities related to the electricity distribution system.

The Vigilance-cum-Intelligence Cell established at the Corporation’s head office fined 13,369 individuals for power line violations during the financial years 2023-24 and 2024-25 (up to February 28).

The penalties led to the recovery of Rs 1.72 crore in 2023-24 and Rs 2.53 crore in 2024-25.

Minister in-charge of the Power department Ratan Lal Nath shared these figures in a written reply during the third day of the state assembly’s budget session, addressing a query raised by CPIM MLA Shailendra Chandra Nath.
