Over 2 lakh households participate in ‘Rangoli Utsav’ in state

Agartala: January 15. On the occasion of Poush Sankranti massive participation in the ‘Rangoli Utsav’ has been observed in the enormous number of houses of the state.

In order to make the ensuing general Election to Tripura Legislative Election 2023 a peaceful and violence free, the Chief Electoral Officer, Tripura Kiran Gitte has taken various initiatives. On 31st December, 2022 two missions namely Mission Zero Poll Violence’ and ‘Mission 929’ have been launched. As a part of these Missions, all the Returning Officers have been conducting Assembly Constituency wise sensitization workshop involving representatives from political parties, eminent persons, police, social workers, media, CAPF officials. On ‘Peaceful Election’, ‘Communal Harmony’ and ‘Accessible Election’ the Chief Electoral Officer of Tripura has organized ‘Rangoli Utsav’ throughout the state on the eve of Poush Sankranti. He has appealed all the households of Tripura to take part in this festival by making rangoli in their house. In every Assembly Constituency one prominent road has been selected for making rangolis on these themes.

As part of the Rangoli Utsav, around 2 lakh 26 thousands 993 households participated in the rangoli utsav and among these the highest number households participated in Bishalgarh where around 13, 450 households participated in the event and Siman came second where around 613 households took participate.

As a part of special campaign under SVEEP, it was appealed to the general public to organize Rangoli Utsav to spread the message of peaceful election, communal harmony and accessible election in connection with forthcoming General Election to Tripura Legislative Assembly-2023. In response to that appeal, a large number of households participated in the utsav covering all 60(sixty) Assembly Constituencies of the state.
