Agartala, February 13, 2023: BJP state general secretary and candidate for 6-Agartala assembly constituency Papia Datta on Monday gave terse warning to the sitting Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman for staying away from creating terror-like activities or else the consequences won’t be good.
Reportedly, an incident of violence took place at Radha Madhav mandir, Radhanagar in 6-Agartala assembly constituency on Monday. BJP’s local leaders alleged that the Congress-backed hooligans had attacked Yuva Morcha’s office.
Speaking to media persons here, Datta said “The MLA of this area has started the traditional practice again. How many gangsters are nurtured for the election. He does not go to people throughout the year. Residents of Agartala did not get anything for the whole year. Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived. There is an office of Yuva Morcha in 6-Agartala assembly constituency. Some young karyakartas were sitting in this office. As many as 20-25 youths arrived and started vandalizing the two-wheelers parked in front of the BJYM office and also pelted stones. Later, those hooligans fled away as cowards. He could feel that his defeat is certain. He failed to accept this defeat.”
“Accordingly, he had initiated this shameful act and similar thing was done in the last by-election. After sometime, people will see that he is acting like West Bengal’s chief minister Mamata Banerjee. This is her drama. Yesterday, he played a drama by pulling another party’s leader on the stage of campaigning for their candidate. Within one hour, Motha’s supremo claimed that he is a ‘kalakar’. After that, don’t you feel ashamed after being the MLA for 20 years”, she added.
Datta also said “If you tend to be a good MLA, then why are making terrorism a weapon. Today also, we are having faith on state police. We want to fight the election in a peaceful manner and sure that BJP will win the election from this assembly constituency. Taking revenge is not our path.” She warned the sitting MLA and act after thinking several times.
