Agartala, 3rd September 2024:    . In a surprising turn of events, parents of students attending Pragati Vidya Bhavan, a renowned school in Agartala have taken the unusual step of writing to the Prime Minister and the President, urging them to address the deteriorating condition of the school’s entry road. This move comes despite the government’s claims of proactive development under the “double engine” administration.

The parents’ letter sent on Tuesday highlights a stark contrast to the government’s assertion that there is no need for public agitation as all necessary services are being delivered promptly. “We were astonished to hear the government’s claims,” said one parent. “Yet, we find ourselves compelled to reach out to the highest offices in the country to get a basic infrastructure issue addressed.”

The entry road to Pragati Vidya Bhavan has been in a state of disrepair for an extended period, causing significant inconvenience and safety concerns for the students. “Our children have to navigate this hazardous road every day, and it becomes especially treacherous during the rainy season,” another parent explained. “Students often fall and get injured, making it a daily struggle to reach the school safely.”

On Tuesday, a group of concerned parents spoke to the media, expressing their frustration and disappointment. “The condition of this road is unacceptable. When it rains, it becomes almost impossible for the students to reach the school without falling,” one parent lamented. “We demand that the entrance road be renovated immediately so that our children can attend school without risking their safety.”

The parents also raised concerns about the impact of the road’s condition on the school’s reputation. “Pragati Vidya Bhavan is known for its academic excellence, but how can we expect to maintain this reputation if the basic infrastructure is neglected?” a parent questioned. “We want our children to receive a quality education, but the current state of the road is a major hindrance.”

In their letter, the parents reiterated their demand for the government to take swift action to renovate the road leading to the prestigious school. “We hope that our appeal to the Prime Minister and the President will bring the necessary attention to this issue,” the parents stated. “Our children’s safety and education should be a priority.”

As the parents await a response from the highest offices, the community remains hopeful that their voices will be heard and that the much-needed road renovation will be undertaken promptly.
