Paschim Tripura Zilla Parishad holds first General Board meeting

Agartala, 18th November 2024:   The General Body of the Paschim Tripura Zilla Parishad (West Tripura District Council) convened its first meeting after the three-tier Panchayat elections on Monday in the conference hall of the District Magistrate’s office, West District. The meeting witnessed the participation of District Magistrate Vishal Kumar, Zilla Parishad Sabhadipati Balai Goswami, and Saha-Sabhadipati Biswajit Shil among other members and officials.

Speaking to journalists after the meeting, District Magistrate Vishal Kumar highlighted the significance of the event. “This is the first General Board meeting of the Zilla Parishad following the Panchayat elections. The primary agenda today was the election of presidents and vice presidents for seven standing committees,” he said.

Kumar explained that the newly-formed committees, which are constituted for the next five years, will play a key role in assessing various government initiatives. “The committee members will evaluate and guide the government’s work, ensuring progress in different sectors. Today’s discussions focused on strategies for the overall development of the state,” he added.

The meeting marks a pivotal step in laying down the roadmap for governance and development in the region, with officials emphasizing their commitment to effective planning and implementation.
