Peace prerequisite for industrial growth: CM

Agartala: September 02. Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha today said that if the atmosphere of peace is maintained then industrialist from state and outside of the state will be encouraged to set up industries here.

“The favourable environment for setting up industries in the state should be utilized better. For the economic development of the state, the industry and commerce department should plan to increase the export of the goods produced in the state”, Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha said this while inaugurating the Udyoggi Bhavan and fifth foundation day celebration of Tripura Industry Owners Association at Bodhjungnagar Industrial City today.

On the occasion the Chief Minister has also emphasized on the development and expansion of industries and maintaining the atmosphere of peace in the state. He said that only if the atmosphere of peace is maintained, industrialist from state and outside of the state will be encouraged to set up industries in the state. Tripura Industry Development Corporation Chairman Tinku Roy, Industry and Commerce Department Director Sapna Debnath, Tripura Tea Development Corporation Chairman Santosh Saha, Bangladesh Assistant High Commissioner in Agartala Arif Mohammad and Tripura Industry Owners Association General Secretary Prangopal Saha spoke on the occasion.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister also said that various infrastructures including communication have been extensively developed in setting up industries in the state. “As a result, foreign industrialists are interested in setting up industries in the state. The state government is also providing them with various facilities. No steps were taken to develop the industry during the previous government in the state. In the name of agitation, the industrial system has been pushed to the brink of destruction. The present government is working for the overall development of the state by following the motto of Sabka Sath, Sabka Viswas and Sarka Prayas”, the CM said.
