Petrol Pump Worker Injured in Late-Night Attack Over Payment Dispute in Udaipur

Agartala, 22nd May 2025: A petrol pump worker and three customers were injured in a violent altercation yesterday night at the Rajib Petroleum Agency in Udaipur’s Ramesh Chaumuhani area. The incident occurred around 10:30 PM, reportedly following a dispute over payment. According to sources, three youths arrived on a bike to refuel at the pump, which provides emergency services at night with the approval of the district administration.

 An argument broke out between the customers and the pump worker, Krishna Acharya (34), which soon escalated into physical violence. Eyewitnesses stated that one of the miscreants struck Acharya on the head with a helmet, causing him to collapse on the spot. The group also allegedly used a gas cylinder during the assault. Hearing the commotion, local residents rushed to the scene and found Acharya unconscious.

 The fire department was alerted, and emergency personnel promptly transported the injured worker to Gomti District Hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment. Police arrested two of the accused, Arup Debbarma (27) and Arunangshu Basu (28), from the spot. The third accused, Arghyadeep Sur (27), fled after allegedly attacking Acharya with the helmet. An investigation has been launched by the Radha Kishore Pur police station, and efforts are underway to apprehend the absconding individual.
