Agartala, 4th December 2024: A delegation from the Indian Association of Physiotherapists met with the Director of Health Services on Wednesday to discuss ongoing recruitment issues. The meeting aimed to address the lack of new physiotherapist appointments in Tripura since 2017.
A trained physiotherapist highlighted the situation, stating, “The last time a physiotherapist was recruited in Tripura was in 2017. Since then, the Health Department has not recruited anyone new to that post.” He noted that there are 23 sub-divisional hospitals in Tripura, with 11 vacancies in the Health Department that remain unfilled.
The delegation expressed their concerns and urged the Director to expedite the recruitment process. In response, the Director of the Health Department assured the delegation that the recruitment process would commence very soon.
The meeting highlighted the pressing need for additional physiotherapists to ensure adequate healthcare services across the state. The physiotherapists remain hopeful that the Health Department will take swift action to address the vacancies.
