Agartala, 4th October 2024:  A new chapter in education has begun at PM SHRI Girls’ Higher Secondary School in Sabroom, a southern town in Tripura. The school’s recent introduction of live classes through the PM e-Vidya DTH channel is part of a collaborative effort between the state’s Department of Education and the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT). This innovative teaching method has received an overwhelmingly positive response from students, sparking renewed enthusiasm and leading to a noticeable rise in regular attendance.

Students are finding the live classes similar to a traditional classroom experience, offering them a direct and engaging way to learn. “This has opened a new horizon for the school,” commented Assistant Headmaster Ranjan Debnath. “We’ve observed that students are more enthusiastic than ever. They’re attending regularly and showing a deeper interest in understanding their subjects.” The live format allows teachers to deliver lessons in real time and respond instantly to students’ questions, making the process more interactive and engaging.

The improved learning environment has motivated students to attend school with excitement. One student remarked, “Before, school felt like a duty, but now we come with excitement. We can interact with teachers directly during live classes, which makes learning much more effective.”

Ranjan Debnath further noted that this initiative has not only boosted student interest and attendance but has also heightened teachers’ dedication. Teachers are now employing modern teaching techniques to enhance student understanding, which has significantly improved the overall quality of education. He added, “This digital method of teaching is designed to secure a better future for students in Tripura. With live classes, they can continue learning even from home, which is a great advantage.”

The Department of Education’s initiative is being hailed as a pivotal step toward enhancing the educational landscape in Tripura.
