PM Relief Fund Sanctions Medical Aid for Cancer Patient from Tripura: MP Deb

Agartala, 16th December 2025:  Financial assistance of Rs 1.25 lakh has been sanctioned for the treatment of cancer patient Poonam Dey through the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF).

West Tripura Member of Parliament Biplab Kumar Deb has expressed his heartfelt gratitude and thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this humanitarian support.

According to reports, Poonam Dey, daughter of Debal Dey and a resident of Puratan Agartala’s East Champamura area in West Tripura district, has been undergoing treatment for cancer for a long time. In view of her need for advanced medical treatment, her family sought financial assistance. Taking the matter seriously, MP Biplab Kumar Deb promptly forwarded the application to the PM National Relief Fund.

The application was approved within a short period, and the sanctioned amount was released for her treatment.

Speaking on the occasion, MP Biplab Kumar Deb said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi always stands by the sick and distressed with a humanitarian outlook.

He added that in most of the earlier cases where applications for advanced medical treatment were sent, the Prime Minister had approved them with sincerity and compassion.

The financial assistance is expected to ease the treatment process for Poonam Dey, bringing relief and renewed hope to her family.
