Police conduct night operations to ensure peace during Durga Puja

Agartala, 13th October 2023: The West District Police Administration has taken strict measures to keep the city peaceful during Sharadiya Durga Festival. On Thursday night, a large police force led by Superintendent of Police Kiran Kumar conducted operations in various parts of the capital. They checked the documents and seat belts of the vehicles and arrested two youths for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Kiran Kumar said that the police patrolling will continue in the coming days to ensure the safety of the city and prevent any untoward incidents during the festive season. He said that the police are also keeping a vigil on the activities of intoxicated youths and gangs of thieves who are active at night.

He said that as the night progressed, a group of intoxicated youths became active and entered the road with vehicles. He said that this poses a risk of accidents and also creates nuisance for others. He also said that the gangs of thieves are organizing thefts in the dark of night in different parts of the city. He warned them to refrain from such crimes or face strict action.

He appealed to the people to cooperate with the police and follow the rules and regulations while celebrating Durga Puja. He wished everyone a happy and safe Durga Puja.
