Agartala, 2nd June 2025: New Capital Complex Police (NCC), acting on an informed tip-off, detained three drug peddlers from the Heritage Park area on Sunday.During the operation, conducted around 5 PM, the police apprehended three individuals, including an auto driver, and seized 384 SP tablets along with the auto.
Speaking to the media, SDPO Subrata Barman stated that the drugs were intended for sale in the NCC and Heritage Park areas.The arrested individuals have been identified as Pradyut Debnath, Kishore Modak, and Paritosh Biswas, residents of Shyamali Bazaar and Nandan Nagar areas. They were produced before the court on Monday, where police sought their remand.
“We are still investigating the source of the drugs,” said SDPO Barman. He also informed that regular patrolling is being jointly conducted by the Tripura State Rifles (TSR) and police to curb illegal trafficking in these areas.
