Police foil timber smuggling attempt, recover stolen wood from vehicle

Agartala: June 25. In a commendable operation, Bagma Police Outpost led by OC Ratan Rabi Das successfully intercepted a cargo vehicle and recovered a substantial quantity of illegally stolen wood late on Saturday night. Acting on a tip-off received by OC Ratan Rabi Das, a heavy police force, in collaboration with the patrolling team from Radhakishorpur police station, swiftly acted to apprehend the smugglers.

During the operation, a cargo vehicle bearing registration number TR 03 H 1764 was intercepted near Dariyabagma Khamarbari, situated within the jurisdiction of the Bagma outpost. Upon inspection, approximately 50 feet of illicit timber was discovered hidden inside the vehicle. The police wasted no time in seizing both the stolen wood and the cargo vehicle, taking them into their custody.

Displaying exemplary coordination and commitment to combating illegal activities, OC Ratan Rabidas of Bagma outpost police station handed over the confiscated vehicle, along with the recovered logs, to the Gomati district forest department on Sunday.
