Police investigate case against quack doctor at Chailengta

Agartala, 5th November 2024:  A resident of Lontharai Valley sub-division has filed a police case against an individual posing as a doctor in front of Chailengta Hospital. The police have commenced an investigation into the matter.

According to Bikash Chandra Das, the complainant, Prasanna Das had been offering medical services to patients in the vicinity of Chailengta Hospital for an extended period. However, it has now come to light that Prasanna Das is a quack. Patients from various parts of the state sought his services and paid him substantial amounts of money for treatment.

Bikash Chandra Das shared that he fell ill after taking medication prescribed by Prasanna Das. Consequently, he decided to file a case against the impostor at Chailengta police station. “I sought the services of that fake doctor and fell sick after taking the medicine he gave me,” Das stated.

The incident has caused a significant stir in the Chailengta area under Longtharai Valley sub-division. The police have launched an investigation to uncover the full extent of the deception and bring the accused to justice. “We are investigating the matter thoroughly,” said a police spokesperson.

The case highlights the importance of verifying the credentials of medical practitioners and ensuring that patients receive treatment from qualified professionals.
