Police Raid at Sonamura: 1660 bottles of Eskuf cough syrup recovered, owner evades arrest

Agartala, 19th June 2024:    Tripura Police conducted a raid late last night and uncovered a stash of drugs in a house located in Kolbari area under Sonamura police station in Sepahijala district.

Acting on undisclosed intelligence, officials raided the residence of Anwar Hossain, suspecting a significant drug cache.

During the operation, a total of 1660 bottles of Eskuf cough syrup valued at approximately Rs 8 lakh in the market were seized.

Despite the successful recovery, authorities were unable to apprehend Anwar Hossain, the homeowner.

A case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against him in connection with the recovered contraband.

The police continue their efforts to locate and arrest Anwar Hossain, who remains at large following the raid.
