Agartala, August 23, 2022: As a part of Nasha Mukt Tripura drive, Dhalai District Police achived major achievements against drug trafficking on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.
Based on secret information, Ambassa SDPO Suman Majumder, OC of Ambassa police station Inspector Anupam Das, executive magistrate along with other officials and staff on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday detained one six-wheeler container truck vehicle bearing registration number NL02AA-0078 at Betbagan Naka Point on NH-08 with driver which was proceeding towards North Tripura from Agartala.
During search, police recovered total 751 kilos of dry ganja from the vehicle. The driver Md Anees (38) of HNO-223, Mahiuddinpur, Dabarsi under Masuri police station in Ghaziabad has been arrested. A case has been registered in this regard for further investigation.
On the other hand, acting on a tip-off, AD Nagar police station staff on Monday night received information about drug trafficking at an area adjacent to Pratapgarh. The police arrested a suspect named Bhupen Chakraborty and recovered 41 packets of Yaba tablets from his possession.
A total of 8,200 Yaba tablets were recovered from the possession of Bhupen Chakraborty. After questioning the young man, the police searched his rented house in Pratapgarh. Police seized mobile, ATM card, Aadhaar card and voter ID from there. Police are interrogating Bhupen Chakraborty in this incident.
It is believed that it will be possible to find the rest of this cycle. It is learned from the police that the market value of the seized Yaba tablets will be more than Rs 10 lakh. Locals complained that the area is full of darkness every evening. Due to the lack of regular police patrolling, drug dealers are destroying the healthy environment.
