Agartala, 27th February 2026: Unakoti district police organized a large bike rally today as part of Police Week celebrations, aiming to raise awareness against violence towards women and children, promote a drug-free society, and encourage public responsibility in building a safer community.
The rally began in front of Kumarghat police station and moved through Kumarghat town, reaching Fatikroy market. It then passed Kumarghat Ashrampara, the new bridge, and Block Chowmuhani before concluding back at the police station.
Around 70 police personnel participated in the event. The program was inaugurated in the presence of Unakoti Superintendent of Police Sudambika R, Kumarghat Sub-Divisional Police Officer Ashesh Debbarma, Kumarghat Officer-in-Charge Sanjay Das, and other officials.
Speaking to reporters, SP Sudambika R emphasized that social change cannot be achieved by police alone. “Every family must ensure the safety of women and children. Only then can we build a healthy society,” she said.
She further urged citizens to immediately inform police if they witness incidents of domestic violence, child abuse, child labor, or early marriage. “Such crimes can only be prevented through active cooperation from all sections of society,” she added.
