Agartala, July 10, 2023: With the upcoming Lok Sabha elections drawing closer, the political fervor of the BJP and TIPRA Motha parties is becoming more evident. A fierce clash between the BJP and Motha unfolded at the premises of Sunacherra village panchayat in the Ampi Nagar RD block on Monday.

According to reports, a BJP joining program was organized today at the Sunachara village panchayat premises, where a total of 87 voters from 33 families who had previously supported TIPRA Motha decided to join the BJP. TRPC chairman PK Jamatia and Ampi Nagar BJP mandal president Shibnath Jamatia warmly welcomed the new members and motivated them to be active within the organization.

Sources indicate that after the joining program concluded, P.K Jamatia and other leaders were returning to Ampi when some BJP activists remained behind to arrange program-related items at the venue. Local witnesses claim that a sudden clash erupted between supporters of the BJP and Motha at the program venue.

BJP activists allege that Motha supporters unexpectedly arrived at the venue and vandalized program materials. Chairs, tables, microphones, and other items were damaged during the violent confrontation. As a result of the altercation, members from both parties sustained injuries. P.K Jamatia and other leaders visited Ampi hospital to meet with the injured activists’ family members. When asked about the incident, leaders from both parties are blaming each other for the altercation.
