Agartala, 29th April 2024 : As the relentless heatwave grips Tripura for the seventh consecutive week, the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha Tripura Pradesh Committee on Monday took a humanitarian step to provide relief to the city dwellers.
In response to the scorching temperatures plaguing the city, the committee distributed cold drinks and watermelons at the bustling city center in Agartala today. This initiative aimed to alleviate the discomfort faced by pedestrians navigating through the sweltering heat.
Tripura’s Meteorological Department has been consistently issuing warnings, forecasting the continuation of the heatwave. Consequently, the Education Department has proactively taken measures to safeguard students from the blistering conditions. In light of this, school holidays have been extended until May 1, 2024, ensuring the closure of all educational institutions across the state.
The distribution of cold beverages and watermelons stands as a testament to the community-oriented approach of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha Tripura Pradesh Committee, offering much-needed respite to residents amidst the challenging weather conditions.
