Agartala, 31st August 2025 : Pradesh BJP would hold protest rallies across the state, including in Agartala on Monday evening, in response to derogatory remarks made against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s late mother by leaders of the RJD and Congress in Bihar.
Sources from the BJP confirmed that an organizational meeting was convened at the State BJP office to finalize plans for the protests. The meeting was chaired by State BJP President Rajib Bhattacharya and attended by state general secretaries Amit Rakshit and Bhagaban Das, along with mandal leaders and Yuva Morcha representatives from Sadar Urban and Sadar Rural districts.
A senior BJP leader, speaking on condition of anonymity, described the comments against PM Modi’s late mother as “completely unacceptable” and emphasized the need for a strong response.
The party leaders said the rallies aim to condemn the offensive remarks and mobilize public support in defense of the Prime Minister’s family and dignity. “Such statements by leaders like Rahul Gandhi, along with RJD and Congress representatives, cannot be tolerated. These are not just attacks on an individual but also affronts to India’s culture and Bihar’s cultural values. We demand a public apology and have decided to organize protest rallies across the state,” the leader said.
The meeting also discussed measures to strengthen the party’s organizational base, chart out future strategies, and energize grassroots-level work. Preparations for the protest rallies are already underway, with the state leadership planning to intensify the campaign tomorrow evening.
