Agartala 10th December 2025: TIPRA Motha Party founder Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma asserted on Wednesday that his party continues to enjoy unwavering support in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), making it difficult for any rival political force to challenge them.
Speaking at an event where BJP’s 49-Chawmanu Assembly Constituency Mohila Morcha president Mayabati Chakma formally joined TIPRA Motha, Pradyot expressed confidence that the party would secure an even stronger mandate in the 2026 District Council elections compared to its performance in 2021.
Highlighting TIPRA Motha’s focus on the rights and welfare of indigenous communities, he said, “Our commitment has always been toward the indigenous people. Others may make claims, but our roots in the villages remain firm. The people who have joined us today did so out of their own conviction—neither I nor the party extended any invitation. I welcome them wholeheartedly.”
Responding indirectly to remarks by BJP general secretary Bipin Debbarma—who had suggested TIPRA Motha was losing influence—Pradyot dismissed such statements as insignificant. He remarked that ground realities would become evident in the coming elections, where he expects his party to outperform its earlier record.
“I don’t comment on statements made by minor leaders. Had a prominent leader spoken, then I would have replied. I share a good rapport with Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, and the public is aware of the mutual trust and understanding we maintain,” he added.
