Agartala, 3rd April 2025: Tipra Motha Party founder and Tripura’s royal scion, Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma, issued a stern warning to Bangladesh on Thursday, asserting that any threat to the Northeast would be met with a strong response. Addressing a massive rally at Udaipur in the Gomati district, he declared that if provoked, he would fight to ensure the security of the region and the creation of Greater Tipraland.
Raising concerns over the alleged atrocities against indigenous communities in Bangladesh, Pradyot pointed to reports of violence in Bandarban and Chittagong, where he claimed indigenous women were being assaulted. He accused Bangladesh’s interim government, led by Chief Advisor Md Yunus, of threatening the Northeast while aligning with China.
“Indigenous people—Hindus, Buddhists, and Christians—are being attacked. But I am not afraid to challenge Bangladesh. If they dare to interfere with the Northeast, we will respond with full force. We are proud Indians and Tiprasas, and we know how to defend our land through unity,” Pradyot asserted.
He reiterated his commitment to fighting for the rights of the indigenous people, both politically and on the ground. “We will raise our demands in the Assembly, in Delhi, and on the streets. I will not stop until our people get justice,” he affirmed.
Taking a dig at political opponents, Pradyot criticized Leader of the Opposition Jitendra Chaudhury for failing to stand up for indigenous issues. “Chaudhury speaks against me, but where was he when we fought for the Roman script of Kokborok? While others remain silent, I fight for the future of our people, regardless of political alliances,” he said.
Positioning himself as an independent and fearless leader, Pradyot emphasized that his allegiance lies solely with the tribal people. “I don’t take orders from anyone—not even from Amit Shah or Rahul Gandhi. My loyalty is to my people, and I will continue this fight till the last moment,” he concluded.
