Pranajit Singha Roy inaugurates ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ program at Udaipur

Agartala, 22nd October 2024:  Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy inaugurated the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ program at Rajarshi Hall in Udaipur, an event organized by the Gomati District Administration, District Chief Medical Officer and District Social Welfare Social Education Office. The program aims to empower women and promote gender equality.

During the inauguration, MLA Abhishek Debroy highlighted the government’s commitment to women’s empowerment. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi is implementing various projects for women empowerment. The ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ program was first launched in Haryana and now gender determination is totally prohibited. Girls should be taken care of without neglecting them,” he said.

Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy emphasized the importance of health initiatives for women. “The Prime Minister is working to build an anemia-free India. The death rate has come down significantly. The Pradhan Mantri Matruvandana Yojana has been launched to keep mothers healthy,” he stated.

Udaipur Municipal Council Chairperson Shital Chandra Majumder also spoke at the event, stressing the need for self-reliance among girls. “Girls are no longer behind. They should be made self-reliant. Today, girls are working successfully in all areas of society,” he remarked.

The event was attended by Additional District Magistrate (PP) of Gomati District Binoy Bhushan Das and other representatives from various departments. District Magistrate of Gomati district Tarit Kanti Chakma delivered the welcome speech while Gomati Zilla Parishad Sabhadipati Debal Debroy presided over the programme.
