Agartala: August 30. The blood donation camp which takes place on every Tuesday with the initiative of Union Minister of State Pratima Bhoumik, today has completed 50th week.
On a Facebook post Bhoumik said to observe the 50th week of voluntary blood donation around 100 people will participate in this blood donation camp today.
“I am organizing the blood donation camp on every Tuesday at GB Pant Hospital to eliminate the shortage of blood in GB Hospital and to provide quick blood for the demented patients. Today it is going to complete its 50th week. Around 100 people will participate in this blood donation camp today to commemorate this special day”, she wrote.
She further said that it would not have been possible to reach this goal without everyone’s blessings and cooperation.
“Responding to my call, about 10 people come to the blood bank of GB Hospital every Tuesday and donate blood. My thanks and gratitude to everyone who came to GB Pant Hospital and donated blood in the last 49 weeks. This blood of yours has given many people their lives back. I would like to take this work further with you in the coming days as well. I want to work for people like this all my life”, she wrote.
