Agartala, 7th March 2026: In an initiative aimed at strengthening marital relationships among young couples, the Tripura Women’s Commission and the West District Administration jointly inaugurated a Pre-Marital Communication Center ahead of International Women’s Day.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by West District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar, Chairperson of the Tripura Women’s Commission Jharnā Debbarma, along with other officials.
Speaking at the event, Chairperson Jharnā Debbarma said that many young couples are facing marital breakdowns due to minor misunderstandings and everyday issues after marriage. To address this growing concern, the new center has been established to provide guidance and counseling to couples planning to get married.
She explained that the center will offer counseling sessions to help prospective couples understand common challenges that may arise after marriage and learn effective ways to resolve them through communication and mutual understanding.
Officials believe that such counseling will help young people develop a better understanding of married life and encourage healthier relationships, ultimately reducing conflicts and separations among newly married couples.
