Agartala, December 13, 2022: The 4-day long International Conference and Fisheries Festival on Responsible Aquaculture and Sustainable Fisheries Interact (RASHI) 2022 began on Tuesday at the College of Fisheries in Lembucherra.
This conference and festival has been organized on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the College of Fisheries. Fisheries Minister Prem Kumar Reang inaugurated the festival. Fisheries scientists from India, Thailand, Bangladesh and Japan participated in the conference.
On the occasion of the conference, 6 different topics will be discussed respectively Fisheries Resource and Sustainability, Innovation for Nutritional Securities, Genome to Phenome in Aquatics, Healthy Aquatics for Healthy Fish, Aqua Resource – Net to Mouth and Smart Fisher for Advanced Society etc. There will also be satellite meets.
Inaugurating the Fisheries Festival, Fisheries minister Prem Kumar Reang said that the students who passed out from this college are working with reputation in various organizations of the country and abroad.
He expressed hope because this college will play a promising role in shaping the successful career of students in the future.
Manipur Fisheries minister H Dingo Singh, MLA Krishnadhan Das, Chief Executive Officer of Hyderabad NFDB Dr C Subarna, Vice Chancellor of National Agricultural University Imphal Dr Anupam Mishra and others were also present in this event. Professor Ratan Kumar Saha, Dean of the College of Fisheries gave a welcome speech on the occasion.
