Agartala, 21st June 2024:  The Pradesh Congress Committee organized a protest today, urging the youth to come forward against corruption in the NEET and UGC NET exams. The protestors burned an effigy of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

The procession started from the Pradesh Congress Bhawan and moved through various streets of the city. Pradesh Congress President Ashish Kumar Saha, MLA Sudip Roy Barman, and others were present.

PCC President Saha said, “Youth are tense as across the country, question papers and answer sheets are being leaked. Youths are now confused. At a time when cases are being filed in court against massive corruption in exams, the Union Education Minister claims that no corruption has taken place. PM Modi, who said zero tolerance against corruption, is not speaking a single word about this and has paralyzed the education system.”

MLA Sudip Roy Barman stated that when allegations of NEET exam question paper leaks surfaced, the Congress was the first to start a movement in the country. Youth Congress was also the first to address the issue in the state of Tripura.

“This government is a question paper leak government. Their only objective is to make money. Let the educated unemployed be neglected, let some hypocritical doctors emerge, let wrong treatments occur, let people die—it doesn’t matter to this government. Even students who have not passed class 12 are getting a chance to pass this exam,” said Roy Barman.

He emphasized that this government is ready to push educated children into darkness.“The opposition won’t let that happen. In the last seven years, about 70 question papers have been leaked, but no one has been punished so far. This government is a government of corruption and a government of ghosts. Because this kind of question paper leak is not possible without ghosts. So this government has introduced ghosts,” he said.

Roy Barman demanded that the current Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, should resign and the entire examination process be canceled, with fresh examinations conducted.“So that talented students get the opportunity to study. Youth are hating this government for such activities,” he said.
