Private Transport Mazdoor Sangha files police complaint over alleged offensive social media remarks

Agartala, 9th October 2025 :  The Private Transport Mazdoor Sangha has lodged a formal complaint with the West Agartala Police Station against an individual accused of posting offensive and religiously provocative content on social media.

According to the complaint, a man identified as Nilanjan Das (alias Biplab) allegedly distorted the Indian national anthem and circulated it with intentions deemed anti-social. The union claims that the act was a deliberate attempt to hurt religious sentiments and incite confusion and anger among the public.

The complaint further asserts that such actions threaten national unity and harmony. The union has called for legal proceedings against the accused under Sections 295 (injuring or defiling a place of worship or sacred object), 505 (statements conducing to public mischief), and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code.

The complainant has urged the Officer-in-Charge of West Agartala Police Station to take immediate legal action against the accused.
