Agartala, December 29, 2022: CPIM state secretary Jitendra Chowdhury on Thursday writes letter to the Chief Electoral Officer of Tripura requesting to prohibit the ruling BJP not to misuse government fund in political purpose and ask them to remove all publicity materials from the government constructed gates.

In one-page letter, Chowdhury wrote “You might be aware that, on the accession of Prime Minister’s official visit to Tripura, the government lavishly expensed huge amount in publicity. Those include among others, construction of bigger-sized gates with government fund welcoming the Prime Minister in several places of Agartala town.”

“These gates are now being used for political propaganda by the ruling BJP with images of BJP leaders and BJP flags pasted/raised on those gates. This is nothing but launching party propaganda abruptly at the cost of government exchequer.”

“The BJP being a ruling party in the state, should have been more scrupulous about not to misuse government fund in party propaganda. But we are witnessing just opposite in the state”, he mentioned.

Chowdhury also informed that though assembly election in the state has not yet declared, but all the stakeholders including government machinery is active in full swing in preparation of the election.

Hence, CPIM state secretary requested CEO to prohibit the ruling BJP not to misuse government fund in political purpose.
