Agartala, 11th December 2023: In a shocking incident today afternoon, a violent clash over a property dispute unfolded in Dhupirabandh village, panchayat under Jubarajnagar block, resulting in severe injuries to Moinul Haque.

The altercation, rooted in a property feud persisting for 7-8 years, took a gruesome turn when Haque was assaulted by individuals identified as Jasim Mia’s son and relatives.

As Haque, accompanied by his son Rahul Uddin and wife, was returning home, the assailants intercepted their car in front of Jasim Mia’s house. The attackers viciously struck Moinul Haque on the head and various parts of his body, leaving him in a bleeding condition. The perpetrators, in a brazen act, also looted two and a half lakh rupees from Haque and confiscated his mobile phone.

Rahul Uddin, recounting the harrowing incident, disclosed that the attackers included Jasim Mia’s son and other relatives. In response to the assault, Rahul Uddin promptly filed a case at Dharmanagar police station, implicating Jasim Mia, Hasim Mia, Shahrul Islam, Hasna Begum, Zairoon Bibi, and Hira Mia in the attack and robbery.

After the assault, Haque was rushed to Dharmanagar Hospital and later transferred to Silchar Medical College due to the critical nature of his injuries. The police, responding to the case, recovered a bloody shawl and clothes from the crime scene, initiating an interrogation with the accused individuals.

Despite the filing of a case by the victims, the accused reportedly staged a sit-in, avoiding their scheduled court appearance and allegedly planning the attack. The situation in the area has escalated, causing a standstill as authorities work to unravel the complexities of the violent property dispute.
