Agartala, 3rd October 2023: A wave of fervent protests engulfed Gandachara sub-division on Tuesday as residents rallied against the recent transfer of Dr. Binay Debbarma from Gandachara sub-division hospital to Kamalpur hospital.
In a compelling display of unity, women from various areas within Gandachara sub-division converged upon the sub-divisional health officer’s office earlier today. Their impassioned plea retain Dr. Binay Debbarma, whose services are deemed indispensable in the face of a severe shortage of doctors at the Hospital.
The concerned residents voiced their apprehensions, citing the potentially grave consequences should Dr. Debbarma’s transfer proceed. Access to critical healthcare services for the sub-division’s populace could be severely compromised. The demonstrators implored the health department to give utmost consideration to this pressing matter and rescind the doctor’s transfer.
In a resolute warning, they declared that if their demands were not met, they would take measures to prevent Dr. Debbarma from leaving Gandachhara sub-division hospital for Kamalpur.
