Agartala, 15th April 2024:  Pujan Biswas, a prominent young political figure and former president of the Tripura Youth Congress, has made a significant return to the party fold ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

His reintegration into the party was orchestrated by former minister and Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman, in an event held on Monday.

During a press briefing, Roy Barman expressed that Pujan Biswas, previously a dedicated Congress member, had departed due to internal discord and had joined the Trinamool Congress.

Roy Barman highlighted that there is a movement of return among those who had previously left the party due to various grievances.

He also made allegations against the BJP, accusing them of ramping up efforts to sabotage campaign materials in different regions.

“In Agartala, our workers attempted to put up flags and decorations, but BJP workers seized and vandalized them. They are resorting to intimidating tactics by visiting homes of our workers,” alleged Roy Barman.

In a statement to the press, Pujan Biswas affirmed, “Our decision to rejoin the Congress has been made. Others who have strayed from the party will also make their way back. We are committed to collaborating with all leaders in the state to fortify the party’s position.”

With Pujan’s reinstatement as the President of the Youth wing, the Tripura Youth Congress looks to reclaim its influence. However, internal conflicts had previously prompted Pujan to step away from the party.
