Agartala: July 29. The Pradesh Youth Congress in Agartala today held a protest rally and burnt the effigy of Union Minister Smriti Irani for reportedly misbehaving with AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi. Shahjahan Islam, vice-president of Pradesh Youth Congress, was present in the procession. He said, “Senior Congress leader Adhir Chowdhury will apologize to the President for his statement.
Even then Union Minister Smriti Irani made ugly comments about Sonia Gandhi. Which we strongly condemned and protesting this we have orgnaised this protest event today”, he said. He also said that when Prime Minister Narendra Modi makes ugly comments about women leaders, why does Smriti Irani remain silent? He said that because Smriti Irani’s daughter brought various issues to light, such anger is being expressed against the Congress. On this day, the procession of the Pradesh Youth Congress started from the Congress Bhawan at Post Office Choumuhani and went around the various routes of the city. Later, an effigy of Union Minister Smriti Irani was burnt.
