Agartala: August 01. The Pradesh Youth Congress, Pradesh Mahila Congress, NSUI, and the Pradesh Congress jointly organized a protest program on Tuesday voicing their concerns over the non-uniform implementation of the PRTC (Permanent Resident of the Tripura Certificate) in the state’s recruitment process.

The protestors marched in front of the office of the Labor Department, demanding equal opportunities for the youth of the state in the recruitment process.

During the protest, Pradesh Youth Congress vice-president Shahajan Islam criticized the state government for failing to enforce the decision made in a recent state cabinet meeting, which mandated PRTC for appointments in all state departments. He expressed concern that PRTC was not being made mandatory for recruitment in certain institutions such as the Public Works Department (PWD) and Dental Colleges, leading to outsiders getting job opportunities in the state.

Islam further alleged that some job applicants from outside the state were even resorting to using fake PRTCs to apply for jobs in departments where PRTC was mandatory, highlighting the urgent need for stringent actions against such practices.

The protestors demanded the immediate elimination of disparities and deception in the state’s recruitment process and called for uniform implementation of PRTC across all departments. They also urged the authorities to take strict actions against officials found to be assisting in the issuance of fake PRTCs.
