Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Organization holds executive committee meeting in Agartala, Birajit attends

Agartala, 17th December 2024:   The executive committee meeting of the Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Organization was held at the Agartala Press Club on Tuesday, chaired by Congress MLA Birajit Sinha. The primary agenda of the meeting was to discuss the establishment of the Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Organization in every district of Panchayats across Tripura.

The meeting saw the presence of Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Organization President Abhijit Sarkar, former Youth Congress President Sushanta Chakraborty, and other officials from various districts. The initiative, originally started by former AICC President Sonia Gandhi, has seen branches formed in various states over the past 6-7 years. Birajit Singh was the first chairman of the Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Branch Organization in Tripura, with Abhijit Sarkar currently serving as the President.

During the event, Birajit Sinha expressed optimism about the future under Abhijit Sarkar’s leadership. “We hope that under President Abhijit Sarkar, Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj branch organizations will be established in panchayats across various districts, benefiting the general public through its activities,” Sinha stated.

He also emphasized the importance of raising awareness about the Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj system among the rural population of the state. The meeting underscored the organization’s commitment to strengthening local governance and empowering communities through effective implementation of the Panchayati Raj system.
