Agartala: Tribal Welfare Minister Rampada Jamatia has met Union Tribal Welfare Minister Arjun Munda in New Delhi and demanded to set up four Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS).
Minister Jamatia has demanded to set up four Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) including two in Kanchanpur sub-division and in Amabassa under Dhalai district for Bru- resettlement camp.
He also demanded upgradation of one EMRS at Sabroom, supply of Coir Mattress and blankets to all government hosteller, establishment of Core subjects i.e., English and Maths Labs for all government run 211 hostels, estimated cost Rs. 30 Crores, Pre and post matric coaching classes contingencies fund Rs. 1.50 crores.
“During the meeting I have him to visit Tripura in the middle of December 2022 for the inauguration of EMRS, Killa and grace the Annual day celebration of Garia Academy (Model), CBSE affiliated XII School, run by NGO Baba Garia Mission under supervision of Jamatia Hoda in its headquarter at Atharabla, Udaipur”, he said.
It is to be mentioned here that this school was initially funded Rs. 10 Lakhs by Union Minister of Home L.K Advani and laid foundation stone on 08-10-2001 by the then Union Minister of Tribal Affairs, Jual Oram Ji.
“Minister Arjun Munda has read the letter and assured me that the decision will be taken favourably”, he added.
