Agartala Dec 21: A college student was raped in Belonia on Monday last in Hathi Park area under Ishan Chandranagar Panchayat under Belonia Police Station.
Although the victim’s family lodged written complaint regarding the incident of rape, police have not arrested anyone related to the case yet.Following this, students of Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar College in Belonia under the banner of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), a student of ruling BJP placed deputation to the SP of Belonia Police Station.
Later, the students gheraoed the police station while condemning the negligence of police in arresting the accused after more than 48 hours of the incident.Later, on receiving specific promises from the police officials, the protest was lifted by the agitating college students.
